JOB OPENING – SWEET SHOP SALES PERSON

Position: Sales Person / Shop Assistant

Gender: Male or Female

Job Location: Muthiyalpet, Pondicherry

Working Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Working Days: Monday to Saturday

Weekly Off: Sunday

Salary: ₹12,000 – ₹14,000 per month, based on experience and skills

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a friendly, responsible, and customer-focused Sales Person to work in our sweet and snacks shop.

The candidate will be responsible for:

- Welcoming customers and assisting them with their purchases.
- Selling sweets, savouries, snacks and other shop products.
- Explaining available products, varieties, prices and offers to customers.
- Packing sweets and snacks neatly and hygienically.
- Weighing products accurately according to customer requirements.
- Handling cash, UPI and other customer payments.
- Preparing bills and operating the billing/POS system if required.
- Maintaining proper display of sweets and snacks.
- Replenishing products on shelves and counters when stock is low.
- Checking product freshness, quality and expiry dates.
- Keeping the sales counter, display area and work area clean and hygienic.
- Maintaining proper food-handling and personal hygiene standards.
- Informing the management about low stock or damaged products.
- Helping with stock counting and basic inventory management.
- Handling customer enquiries and complaints politely.
- Supporting the team during busy hours, festivals and special occasions.




- Opening/closing-related shop duties as assigned by the management.

Candidate Requirements
- Male or Female candidates can apply.
- Minimum basic educational qualification.
- Previous experience in a sweet shop, bakery, supermarket, restaurant, retail shop or food outlet is preferred but not compulsory.
- Freshers with a good attitude can also apply.
- Basic calculation and cash-handling skills.
- Basic knowledge of billing systems is an advantage.
- Should be able to communicate politely with customers.
- Knowledge of Tamil is preferred; basic English will be an added advantage.
- Must be punctual, honest, responsible and well-groomed.
- Should maintain cleanliness and personal hygiene.
- Should be willing to learn about different sweets and snack products.
- Should be comfortable standing and attending to customers during working hours.
- Preference may be given to candidates residing in or around Muthiyalpet / Pondicherry.

Salary & Advantages

₹12,000 – ₹14,000 per month

Salary will be decided based on the candidate's experience, communication skills and ability to handle customers.
