Retail SME Data / Retail Product Manager (Data)

Role Summary

We are seeking a Retail SME Data / Product Manager with 10+ years of experience in the Retail domain, Data & Analytics, and Product Management. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving data strategy, product roadmap execution, and data-driven decision-making across retail operations. Strong expertise in retail business processes, ERP systems, data platforms, and analytics is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as a Retail Domain SME for Data & Analytics initiatives.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define data product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements for data and analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to build scalable data platforms and pipelines.
- Drive the development of data products, dashboards, reporting solutions, and analytical capabilities.
- Define KPIs, business metrics, and success criteria for data initiatives.
- Work closely with merchandising, supply chain, store operations, eCommerce, and ERP teams to identify data opportunities.
- Ensure data governance, quality, security, and compliance standards are maintained.
- Lead Agile planning, backlog prioritization, sprint reviews, and stakeholder communications.
- Provide domain leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications




- 10+ years of experience in the Retail industry with strong domain expertise.
- Hands-on experience with Retail ERP platforms and retail business processes.
- Solid understanding of Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Data Integration, and Analytics.
- Experience with Databricks, Spark, SQL, and modern cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data management best practices.
- Experience delivering Data & Analytics products and platforms.
- Product Management experience including roadmap planning, requirement gathering, and stakeholder management.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Retail data models, customer analytics, pricing, merchandising, and supply chain analytics.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
- Understanding of AI/ML and GenAI use cases within Retail.
- Exposure to Data Governance, Master Data Management (MDM), and Data Quality frameworks.
