Specialist - Quality Engineering Python Automation Engineer Release Management Experience 48 years Role Type Handson Individual Contributor Function Release Management Automation Role Summary We are seeking a handson Python Automation Engineer to design develop and support automation solutions for the Release Management team The role will focus on reducing manual effort improving release quality strengthening governance and providing timely visibility across release planning readiness deployment validation communication and postrelease activities Key Responsibilities Identify repetitive releasemanagement activities and convert them into reliable reusable Python automation solutions Develop scripts utilities APIs and scheduled workflows for release planning checklist creation artifact validation status collection approvals reminders notifications reporting and audit evidence Integrate automation with enterprise tools such as Jira ServiceNow Git CICD platforms databases SharePoint Teams Outlook and REST APIs Automate releasereadiness checks deployment validations reconciliation activities exception handling rollback verification and postimplementation reporting Build maintainable Python components with logging configuration management retry controls error handling security controls and operational monitoring Create automated tests conduct code reviews troubleshoot failures and support production implementation and stabilization Work with release managers application teams infrastructure teams risk partners and other stakeholders to translate process needs into technical solutions Prepare technical designs support documentation runbooks control evidence and knowledgetransfer materials Track automation benefits operational risks failure trends and opportunities for continuous improvement Follow enterprise SDLC changemanagement risk security dataprotection and audit requirements Required Skills and Experience 48 years of software development or automation experience with strong handson Python programming skills Proficiency in Python scripting objectoriented programming file processing exception handling logging reusable modules and package management Experience with Python libraries and frameworks such as Pandas Requests OpenPyXL PyTest Flask FastAPI or equivalent tools Handson experience with REST APIs JSON SQL relational databases and integration patterns Working knowledge of Git pull requests code reviews branching strategies and CICD pipelines Ability to automate Excel CSV email document reporting and datareconciliation workflows Understanding of releasemanagement concepts including release calendars dependencies approvals deployment windows change records rollback plans validation and postimplementation review Strong analytical debugging problemsolving documentation and stakeholder communication skills Experience developing secure supportable and auditready automation in an enterprise workplace GoodtoHave Skills Practical exposure to AIML Generative AI large language models prompt engineering RAG or agentic workflows Experience adopting Microsoft Copilot GitHub Copilot or Copilot Studio to accelerate development and automate business processes Knowledge of Power Automate SharePoint Teams Outlook Power BI or Microsoft 365 integrations Experience with cloud platforms containerization orchestration tools infrastructure automation or observability solutions Awareness of Responsible AI model governance humanintheloop controls data privacy and secure AI adoption Exposure to DevOps SRE ITIL Agile delivery or regulated financialservices environments Education and Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience Relevant certifications in Python DevOps cloud ITIL Microsoft Power Platform AIML or Generative AI are advantageous Success Measures Reduction in manual release coordination and reporting effort Improved accuracy timeliness traceability and auditability of release activities Stable automation with effective monitoring exception handling and timely support Reusable solutions adopted across multiple applications and release cycles Safe and measurable adoption of AIassisted engineering and Copilot capabilities where appropriate
