Acrion Biosynthesis is a dynamic research organization dedicated to the development and creation of novel bio-based materials and biodegradable additives. Our mission is to revolutionize the way we manage plastic waste by making regular plastics biodegradable. We are currently seeking two highly motivated Project Technicians with a background in Microbiology, Biotechnology or Molecular Biology to join our team in Hyderabad.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Project Technician with a background in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology or Molecular Biology to support our team. Freshers and candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply. This role will be integral to our innovation efforts, primarily focusing on understanding the mechanisms by which soil microorganisms digest plastics and on the engineering and development of novel enzymes for enhanced biodegradation.

This is a full-time, on-site role based at our Hyderabad laboratory. This is a challenging yet rewarding career opportunity for individuals passionate about environmental sustainability and cutting-edge research.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the design and execution of research experiments focused on plastic biodegradation by soil microorganisms.
- Conduct laboratory experiments in microbiology and molecular biology, including enzyme engineering.




- Isolate, culture, and characterize microorganisms with potential for plastic degradation.
- Participate in enzyme discovery, engineering, and optimization efforts.
- Analyze experimental data and contribute to the preparation of research reports and presentations.
- Stay abreast of the current scientific literature in relevant fields.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records.
- Collaborate effectively with other research team members.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and laboratory procedures.

Required Qualification and Experience:

- Master's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology or Molecular Biology.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience (maximum 2 years)
- Hands-on experience with microbiology and/or molecular biology techniques (e.g., microbial isolation, culturing, and characterization; basic molecular biology methods: DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis etc.) is required.
- Basic enzyme/protein work such as extraction, partial purification, and SDS-PAGE analysis; exposure to enzyme kinetics or protein engineering is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong interest in environmental sustainability and biodegradation research.
