Role overview

Manage the day-to-day operations and development of a vermicompost farm, from raw material sourcing and worm-bed management to finished-product quality and dispatch. Lead the farm team, control costs and coordinate with suppliers and buyers to meet agreed production and delivery plans.

Key responsibilities

Plan production cycles, staffing, material needs and project milestones; track progress and report issues to the farm owner or management.

Supervise organic-waste sourcing and sorting, pre-composting, bed preparation, feeding and earthworm care.

Monitor moisture, temperature, aeration, drainage and worm health. Oversee harvesting, worm separation, sieving, packing, storage and stock rotation.

Maintain batch records and accurate raw-material and finished-goods inventories.

Check compost maturity and contamination; arrange product testing where needed, maintain quality records and take corrective action on rejected or inconsistent batches.

Assign daily work, train workers in operating procedures and safe handling, monitor attendance and maintain tools, watering systems and farm equipment.

Prepare and track operating budgets, purchases and production costs; reduce material losses and plan improvements or expansion within approved budgets.

Coordinate orders, packaging and dispatch with sales teams, buyers and distributors. Maintain delivery records and help address product-quality complaints.

Maintain hygiene, worker safety and responsible waste and water handling.



Coordinate applicable permits, product standards, labelling and compliance records with management.

Candidate requirements:

Practical experience in vermicomposting, compost production, organic farming or a closely related agricultural operation, with the ability to manage farm work independently.

Working knowledge of earthworm care, composting processes, production planning, quality checks and inventory control.

Ability to supervise workers, coordinate suppliers and buyers, manage costs and keep clear production and expense records using Excel or similar tools.

Willingness to work on-site in farm conditions and respond to operational problems. Previous team-supervision or farm-project experience is preferred.

A diploma or degree in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science or a related field is preferred; robust relevant practical experience is also valued.

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
