Reporting To: Plant Head / Factory Manager

Location: Kota Rajasthan

Experience: 5–10 years in plywood, blockboard, veneer, MDF, or related wood-panel manufacturing

Job Purpose The Production Incharge will be responsible for managing and supervising the complete plywood manufacturing process to ensure smooth production, optimum machine utilization, consistent product quality, minimum wastage, and timely achievement of production targets.

The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of plywood manufacturing machinery, production processes, maintenance coordination, production planning, and production-related software/ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Execution

- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production as per production targets.
- Coordinate production activities from veneer/core preparation to final plywood pressing, finishing, sanding, grading, and packing.
- Ensure production is completed as per customer specifications and dispatch schedules.
- Monitor production output, machine utilization, productivity, and downtime.
- Prepare and maintain daily production reports and performance records.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

1. Knowledge of Plywood Manufacturing Process

The candidate should have practical knowledge of:
- Log/wood preparation and peeling
- Veneer peeling and slicing
- Veneer clipping and grading
- Veneer drying
- Core veneer preparation
- Glue preparation and mixing
- Glue spreading
- Lay-up / assembly
- Cold pressing
- Hot pressing
- Panel trimming
- Sanding
- Calibration

1. Machinery Knowledge

The Production Incharge should have hands-on knowledge of the operation, production parameters, and basic troubleshooting of plywood manufacturing machines, including:
- Veneer Peeling Machine
- Veneer Clipper
- Veneer Dryer
- Glue Mixing System
- Glue Spreader
- Core Composer
- Lay-up / Assembly Line
- Cold Press
- Hot Press / Hydraulic Press
- Boiler / Thermic Fluid Heating System
- Panel Saw / Trimming Machine
- Sanding Machine
- Calibrating Machine
- Edge Cutting Machine
- Putty/Repairing Equipment
- Material Handling Equipment

The candidate should be capable of:
- Setting and monitoring machine parameters.
- Understanding machine capacity and production speed.
- Identifying common machine-related production problems.
- Coordinating with maintenance teams for breakdowns.
- Monitoring preventive maintenance requirements.
- Reducing machine downtime and improving machine utilization.
- Ensuring safe machine operation.

1. Production Software & Computer Skills

The candidate should be comfortable using computerized production systems and manufacturing software, including:

- ERP / Production Management Software




- Production Planning & Scheduling Software
- Inventory / Raw Material Management Systems
- Excel / MS Office
- Production MIS and reporting systems
- Machine control panels / PLC-HMI interfaces
- Digital production monitoring systems

Required Excel skills:

- Production reports
- Daily/weekly/monthly MIS
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- SUMIFS/COUNTIFS
- Production and downtime analysis
- Basic charts and dashboards

Experience with ERP/MIS software used in plywood or manufacturing industries will be preferred.

1. Manpower Management

- Supervise production operators, helpers, technicians, and line workers.
- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Monitor worker productivity and discipline.
- Train operators on proper machine operation and production procedures.
- Ensure proper shift handover and communication.
- Maintain adequate manpower for all critical production sections.

1. Quality Control

- Ensure plywood is manufactured according to required specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control department.
- Monitor issues such as:
- Delamination
- Core gaps
- Veneer defects
- Thickness variation
- Pressing defects
- Glue-related defects
- Surface defects
- Warping
- Sanding/calibration issues
- Take immediate corrective action when quality problems occur.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.

1. Raw Material & Wastage Control

- Monitor consumption of logs, veneer, resin/glue, fuel, and other production materials.
- Control veneer and plywood wastage.
- Identify major sources of production loss.
- Maintain production yield and recovery.
- Coordinate with stores and purchase departments for uninterrupted production.

1. Maintenance Coordination

- Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Report recurring machine problems to the Plant Head.
- Ensure critical machines are maintained properly.
- Monitor machine downtime and maintain downtime records.
- Participate in root-cause analysis of repeated breakdowns.

1. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure all workers follow plant safety procedures.
- Ensure proper use of PPE.
- Maintain safe working conditions around presses, dryers, boilers, sanding machines, and other equipment.
- Ensure machine guards and safety systems are properly used.
- Report accidents, unsafe conditions, and near misses immediately.
- Follow company SOPs and statutory safety requirements.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) The Production Incharge will be evaluated on:
- Daily/monthly production achievement
- Machine utilization
- Production efficiency
- Production yield/recovery




- Veneer and material wastage
- Rejection and rework percentage
- Machine downtime
- Labour productivity
- Production cost control
- Quality consistency
- On-time production completion
- Safety performance

Required Skills & QualificationsEducation
- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, Wood Technology, or related field preferred.
- Candidates with strong practical experience in plywood manufacturing may also be considered.

Experience
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in plywood manufacturing or a closely related wood-panel industry.
- Experience handling production teams and manufacturing machinery is essential.

Technical Skills The candidate should have:
- Strong knowledge of plywood manufacturing processes.
- Practical knowledge of production machinery.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical/PLC-controlled machinery.
- Knowledge of production planning and process control.
- Good knowledge of production documentation.
- Ability to read machine parameters and production data.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and ERP/MIS systems.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a hands-on production professional who understands both the physical manufacturing process and the digital side of production management. The candidate should be able to:

Understand the machine → Set the process → Plan production → Monitor output → Analyze production data → Control wastage → Resolve production issues → Achieve quality and production targets.

Experience with automated production lines, PLC/HMI-controlled machines, ERP systems, production dashboards, and computerized production reporting will be an advantage.

Authority & Responsibility The Production Incharge will have authority to:

- Allocate production manpower.
- Plan machine/line-wise production.
- Adjust production schedules within approved limits.
- Stop production in case of serious quality or safety issues.
- Coordinate machine maintenance and breakdown response.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Report manpower, material, machine, and quality issues to management.

Note: The exact authority level will be as per company policy. Salary: ₹15000-25000 per month

Working Conditions

- Full-time, factory-based position.
- Willingness to work in shifts and extended hours when required.
- Regular presence on the production floor is required.
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
