About Us

Rough-In (rough-in.com) is a US-based B2B brand supplying MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) rough-in products to the construction industry, such as brackets, supports and mounting hardware used by plumbers and contractors. Our products are manufactured by contract manufacturers in the US, and we're growing our product line quickly. You'll work directly with our US product development team to take new products from concept to launch.

What You'll Do

- Design new sheet metal products and improve existing ones in SolidWorks, from concept through production-ready models
- Create manufacturing drawings with correct flat patterns, bend allowances, tolerances and GD&T; for laser cutting, punching and press brake forming
- Study competitor products and customer needs to propose practical, cost-effective designs
- Prepare spec sheets, product drawings and installation guide visuals for product launches
- Revise designs based on feedback from contract manufacturers and the US team
- Keep CAD files,



revisions and BOMs organized and documented

What We're Looking For

- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 1–3 years of hands-on sheet metal design experience in SolidWorks (Sheet Metal module)
- Solid understanding of bending, K-factor, hole-to-edge rules and manufacturability
- Ability to produce clean, complete 2D manufacturing drawings
- Good written English for daily communication with a US team
- Reliable internet and willingness to overlap 2–3 hours with US Eastern Time

Nice to Have

- Experience with construction, plumbing, HVAC or electrical hardware
- Familiarity with galvanized steel and stainless steel gauges
- Rendering or exploded-view skills for install guides
