Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Press Shop Operator to operate and monitor mechanical/hydraulic press machines used for sheet-metal component manufacturing. The candidate should have hands-on experience in press shop operations, tool/die handling, quality inspection, and maintaining safe production practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate mechanical/hydraulic press machines for sheet-metal stamping, blanking, bending, punching, and forming operations.
- Set up machines, dies, tools, and fixtures as per production requirements.
- Load and unload sheets/components and ensure proper material positioning.
- Monitor machine operation and production parameters to ensure smooth and efficient production.
- Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, gauges, and templates.
- Identify defects such as dimensional variation, cracks, dents, burrs, wrinkles, and improper forming.
- Make basic machine/tool adjustments to maintain required quality and production output.
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance of machines and tools.




- Maintain production records, rejection reports, and shift-related documentation.
- Follow production schedules and achieve daily production targets.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of dies, tools, raw materials, and finished components.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, 5S practices, and shop-floor discipline.
- Report machine breakdowns, tool damage, quality issues, and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter, or related trade preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in a press shop/manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience operating power presses, hydraulic presses, or mechanical presses.
- Knowledge of sheet-metal stamping/forming processes.
- Basic understanding of press dies, punches, fixtures, and tooling.
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings and understand dimensions/tolerances.
- Experience with basic measuring instruments and quality checks.
- Good knowledge of shop-floor safety and 5S.
- Ability to work in shifts and meet production targets.
