Role Description The Press Shop Production Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the press shop, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely production of automotive components. This full-time, on-site role is based in Chennai and involves planning production schedules, allocating resources, and monitoring machine performance to meet quality standards and delivery timelines. The role includes supervising operators and technicians, coordinating preventive maintenance, and resolving production issues to minimize downtime.

The manager will track key performance indicators, implement process improvements, and collaborate with quality, design,



and supply chain teams to optimize output and reduce waste. Additional responsibilities include enforcing safety protocols, supporting audits, maintaining documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of press shop operations, metal forming processes, tool and die management, and production planning.
- Experience in automotive component manufacturing, including familiarity with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Proficiency in quality management practices such as SPC, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and basic problem-solving tools.
- Capability to lead and supervise teams, manage shift operations, and coordinate with cross-functional departments.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and technical specifications related to press components.
- Working knowledge of safety regulations, shop floor health and safety practices, and incident prevention techniques.
- Comfort with using ERP or production management software and basic MS Office tools for reporting and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field; relevant press shop experience is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Chennai and support flexible shift timings as per production requirements.
