Role Description The Plant Operations Manager is a full time, on-site role based in Bharuch, responsible for overseeing day-to-day plant activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production. The role includes managing production schedules, optimizing resource utilization, and coordinating maintenance to minimize downtime.
The Plant Operations
Manager will lead and develop plant teams, enforce safety and quality standards, and monitor key performance indicators across operations. This position collaborates closely with supply chain, quality assurance,
and engineering to support on-time delivery, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves implementing operational best practices, supporting audits, and driving process enhancements aligned with company growth objectives.
Qualifications
- Experience in plant or manufacturing operations management, including production planning, capacity management, and shop-floor supervision.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, and compliance standards relevant to industrial manufacturing (e.g., ISO systems, EHS regulations, and audit practices).
- Skills in team leadership, performance management, and workforce scheduling, with the ability to build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Competence in data-driven decision-making, including monitoring KPIs, analyzing operational metrics, and implementing corrective actions.
- Familiarity with maintenance coordination, equipment reliability, and basic understanding of mechanical or industrial processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for working with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field; relevant manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Prior experience in packaging, chemical, pharmaceutical, or related process industries is an advantage.
