Job Summary

AkzoNobel is looking for a People Services Senior Specialist to join our Global Business Services team in Pune.

The role will support the US business and will be responsible for managing complex employee lifecycle and HR administration activities from Hire to Retire. The position will act as a subject matter specialist for complex employee and manager queries, ensuring timely resolution in line with SLAs, HR policies and quality standards.

The role will also contribute to process transitions, stabilization, automation, continuous improvement and root cause analysis within People Services.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage employee lifecycle activities including:
- New hires
- Transfers
- Promotions
- Benefits administration
- Time & Leave
- Terminations
- Organizational Management
- Employee data management

- Handle and resolve moderately complex to complex HR cases escalated from the Contact Center.
- Prepare employment contracts, letters and HR-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems and third-party platforms.
- Provide guidance on global and local HR policies and procedures.
- Support Contact Center teams in resolving complex employee/manager queries within agreed SLAs.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and Centers of Expertise for exceptional cases.
- Support the translation and implementation of HR policies into operational processes.
- Identify opportunities for process simplification,



automation and continuous improvement.
- Participate in transition projects, including process/workstream transitions and stabilization.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and support resolution of recurring process issues.
- Ensure SOPs and Knowledge Base (KB) documentation remain current and accurate.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders in an international and multicultural environment.

What We're Looking For

- 10 years of relevant experience in HR Operations / People Services / HR Shared Services / HR Administration.
- Strong experience supporting US HR / US Shared Services and working with US stakeholders.
- Proven experience in transition management, including transitioning processes/workstreams and stabilizing them within a shared services or delivery environment.
- Solid understanding of employee lifecycle / Hire-to-Retire processes.
- Experience handling complex HR cases and employee queries.
- Ability to interpret and apply HR policies and procedures.
- Exposure to HR technology and HR systems.
- Exposure to Power Apps, Python or other automation tools will be an advantage.
- Strong customer-service orientation with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and Root Cause Analysis capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload and work independently.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Comfortable working with international and multicultural teams.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree, preferably in HR or a related field.
- Willingness to work 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM IST to support the US business.
