Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pega Developer to design, build, and deliver BPM applications on the Pega PRPC platform. The ideal candidate has delivered multiple end-to-end Pega projects, holds a current Pega certification, and brings strong Java, database, and integration skills. You will work closely with business analysts and the implementation team to translate use cases and requirements into high-performing, quality Pega solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface with the LBA/BA to address configuration needs tied to use cases and requirements
- Participate in compiling use case documentation as required by the project methodology
- Oversee the implementation team through analysis, design, build, and unit testing of application functionality, and retest reported issues from unit and user-acceptance testing
- Design and build UI using Fragments, Sections, Layouts, Portals, and Skins
- Build and maintain PRPC integration services using Rule-Connects, Rule-Services, and Activities
- Run pre-flight and PAL to deliver high-performance, high-quality applications
- Review alert logs to ensure adherence to quality standards
- Validate rule types, including Rule-Obj-Validate and Rule-Edit-Validate, and build reporting rules such as List View, Summary View, and Report Definition
- Apply version and revision control practices and procedures
- Troubleshoot, configure, and deploy applications on application servers
Required Qualifications
Certification and experience
- 3 to 9 years of hands-on Pega experience
- CLSA Part 1 certified (CSSA certification is the minimum, with CLSA to be completed)
- Delivered at least three end-to-end BPM projects using Pega v7.x
- In-depth knowledge of PRPC v6.x and v7.x (must have)
PRPC design and implementation
- Hands-on expertise in Work Object Relationships, Rule Resolution, Inheritance, Circumstancing, Class Design, Reporting, Skill-Based Routing, Locking, Agents, and Functions/Java API
- Proficiency with PRPC tools, including PRPC Caching, SMA, Tracer, and DB Trace
- Strong expertise in UI rules: Fragments, Sections, Layouts, Portals, and Skins
- Experience with PRPC integration services (Rule-Connects, Rule-Services, Activities)
Database
- Solid understanding of relational database management systems, including architecting and designing for performance and scalability
- Experience with Object-Relational Mapping schemes for distributed data access
- Excellent skills in at least one RDBMS (Oracle, MSSQL, or DB2), with proficiency in SQL
Java and web technologies
- Solid fundamentals in Core Java and object-oriented concepts
- Hands-on experience developing web applications with Servlets, JSP, and XML
- Experience with client-side technologies: HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
- Experience with a servlet or enterprise container (Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, or JBoss), including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting
Integration and architecture
- Experience with enterprise-level systems development and industry-standard interface protocols (SOAP, MQ, HTTP, REST, OAuth, etc.)
Methodology and communication
- Well versed in SDLC methodologies, including Scrum/Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative
- Knowledge of version and revision control practices
- Robust verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Pega frameworks such as Smart Case Manager (SCM), Decision Strategy Manager (DSM), and NBAA
