About the Role

McWAY is looking for an experienced Estimate Engineer to join our team and support estimation, tendering, costing, and project planning activities for road and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, tender documentation, and coordination with design, planning, procurement, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for road and infrastructure projects.
- Review drawings, technical specifications, and project scope to determine quantities.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare item-wise estimates.
- Perform rate analysis based on material, labour, equipment, and market rates.
- Prepare and review tender documents, bid submissions, and commercial proposals.
- Analyse project requirements, quantities, and resource requirements for accurate costing.
- Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, and project teams for estimation inputs.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors/subcontractors when required.
- Identify cost variations, assumptions, exclusions, and potential commercial risks.
- Support tender evaluation, value engineering, and cost optimization.
- Maintain estimation records, databases,



and relevant project documentation.
- Ensure estimates are prepared accurately and submitted within deadlines.

Key Skills

- Strong knowledge of road and highway construction estimation.
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation and quantity take-off.
- Good understanding of rate analysis and construction costs.
- Ability to read and interpret civil/road drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of tendering and bid preparation processes.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of estimation/tendering software will be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Education BE / B.Tech – Civil Engineering

Candidates with relevant experience in roads, highways, infrastructure, or civil consultancy will be preferred.

Experience

5–10 years of relevant experience in estimation, costing, tendering, or quantity surveying, preferably in road/highway/infrastructure projects.
