PATIENT COUNSELLOR – JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition

Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate, confident, and patient-focused Patient Counsellor to support patients and their attendants by providing explicit information, guidance, and assistance throughout their hospital journey.

Key Responsibilities

- Counsel patients and attendants regarding hospital services, procedures, and treatment processes.
- Explain treatment-related information in a simple and understandable manner.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, front-office staff, and other departments for smooth patient care.
- Guide patients regarding appointments, investigations, admissions, discharge, and follow-up procedures.
- Explain estimated treatment costs and package details as per hospital guidelines.
- Assist patients in understanding insurance/TPA-related procedures when required.
- Address patient and attendant queries professionally and courteously.
- Handle patient concerns and coordinate with the concerned department for timely resolution.
- Maintain proper records of counselling and patient interactions.
- Follow up with patients regarding appointments, investigations,



and treatment plans when required.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Support patient satisfaction and maintain a positive hospital experience.
- Perform other patient-care and counselling-related duties assigned by the management.

- Patient, empathetic, and service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Tamil , English and Hindi
- Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple hospital departments.
- Good problem-solving and customer-service skills.

Qualification

- Any Graduate / Diploma in Healthcare, Hospital Administration, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Previous hospital or healthcare experience is preferred.

Experience 1–3 years of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment preferred.
