Role Description The Oracle DBA - Team Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi for a leading banking customer of ours. This role is responsible for leading a team of database administrators, overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of Oracle databases, and ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Daily tasks include monitoring database health, performing backup and recovery operations, managing data warehousing environments, and proactively troubleshooting incidents and performance issues.

The team lead coordinates with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support business-critical systems and participates in capacity planning, patching, and upgrade activities.



The role also involves mentoring team members, enforcing best practices and standards, and contributing to documentation, process improvements, and compliance with organizational policies.

Qualifications

- Robust skills in Oracle Database Administration and general Database Administration, with experience managing production environments.

- Proficiency working with Databases and Data Warehousing solutions, including design, optimization, and data integrity management.

- RAC knowledge is a must.

- DC-DR managing capabilities

- DR drill expertise

- BFSI knowledge and experience is a key.

- Solid Troubleshooting capabilities for performance, availability, and reliability issues across complex database infrastructures.

- Experience leading or mentoring technical teams, with the ability to coordinate tasks, set priorities, and guide junior DBAs.

- Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies, database security, patching, upgrades, and high availability/disaster recovery configurations.

- Familiarity with scripting and automation (such as Shell, Python, or similar) to streamline database operations and monitoring.

- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technology and business teams.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; relevant Oracle certifications are a plus.
