Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time position based in Bhubaneswar with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing part of the work to be completed from home. This role oversees day-to-day operational activities across shipping, port operations, and logistics workflows to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods.

Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating resources, managing schedules, monitoring performance metrics, and resolving operational issues to maintain service quality and efficiency.

The Operations

Manager collaborates closely with internal teams, external partners, and customers to streamline processes, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.



The role also involves preparing operational reports, supporting budgeting and cost control efforts, and contributing to strategic planning for future growth in maritime logistics.

Qualifications

- Strong operations management skills, including planning, coordination, and workflow optimization, preferably within transportation, logistics, or maritime services.
- Experience with supply chain management, port or terminal operations, and freight movement, with an ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and use of logistics or ERP software to monitor performance, costs, and operational KPIs.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements related to shipping and port operations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills for working with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution abilities in quick-paced operational environments.
- Background in process improvement methodologies (such as Lean or Six Sigma) and familiarity with quality and risk management practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant postgraduate qualifications or certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role in logistics, shipping, or maritime operations is highly beneficial.
