Role Description

At Farwood, we are scaling our modular furniture solutions and building a comprehensive, standardised product catalog. We are looking for a detail-oriented Modular Product Design Engineer to take ownership of translating our modular furniture designs into a fully detailed, production-ready catalog library.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between design, engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring every modular unit is standardised, accurately documented, and ready for deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Catalog Creation & Standardization: Develop, structure,



and maintain a comprehensive modular furniture catalog covering cabinets, wardrobes, kitchen systems, and hardware.

Technical Detailing: Define unit dimensions, joinery details, panel optimization rules, edge-banding, and hardware specifications for every catalog item.

BOM & Hardware Libraries: Standardize Bills of Materials (BOM) and technical hardware mapping within the catalog database.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with the design, production, and costing teams to ensure catalog items reflect manufacturing capabilities and cost efficiency.

Version Control & Updates: Continuously refine and expand catalog offerings based on new design iterations, customer requirements, and production feedback.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: 4–7 years of hands-on experience in modular furniture design, catalog engineering, or technical product standardization.

Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and furniture design platforms (e.g., IMOS, Cabinet Vision, Kitchen3D, or similar parametric design software).

Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of modular furniture manufacturing processes, board materials (MDF, PLPB, Plywood), hardware fittings (Hettich, Blum, Hafele), and assembly logic.

Skillset: Solid analytical mindset, obsessive attention to detail, and ability to structure data clearly.
