Role Description The Media Manager is a part-time, in office role based at Pondicherry University in Puducherry, India. The role involves planning and executing media strategies across traditional and new media channels to support YPC PU’s policy and outreach goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing media plans for campaigns, managing content for social media and digital platforms, coordinating with internal teams for communication materials, and overseeing public-facing messaging.





The Media

Manager will also liaise with media outlets and partners, handle public relations activities, monitor media coverage and analytics, and ensure consistent branding and tone across all communications. The role requires proactive coordination of events, timely content development, and regular reporting on media performance to project leads.

Qualifications

- Ability to develop and implement Media Planning and Media Strategy for campaigns and initiatives.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience or interest in Public Relations, including outreach to media outlets and managing public-facing narratives.
- Familiarity with policy, governance, or social sector issues, and an interest in youth engagement and public discourse.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an academic environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Comfort with basic analytics tools to track media performance and adjust strategies based on data.
