JOB TITLE ME Engineer

LOCATION Oragadam, Chennai

Reports to Plant Head

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

To manage and continuously improve product assembly and manufacturing processes, including NPI tools, fixtures,

equipment, and manufacturing infrastructure, ensuring efficient, reliable, and quality-driven production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage and control manufacturing and product assembly processes for electronic and electrical products.
- Develop, prepare, release, and maintain Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and process

documentation.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing process and product quality issues through effective root-cause analysis

and corrective actions.
- Design, develop, and implement tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and assembly aids to support manufacturing

requirements.
- Manage manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and infrastructure to ensure operational availability and reliability.
- Plan and manage equipment, tooling, and spare-parts requirements, including inventory and replacement planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing equipment, tools, fixtures, and assembly processes.
- Optimize and fine-tune manufacturing processes to improve productivity, cycle time, yield, quality, cost, and overall

equipment utilization.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including equipment selection, layout preparation, process

development, line readiness, tooling/fixture development, trial builds, validation, and production release.
- Coordinate with Design, Quality, Production, R&D;, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams for successful

product and process implementation.




- Conduct process studies and implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives and best

production practices.
- Support process capability improvement, error-proofing (Poka-Yoke), and reduction of process-related defects.
- Ensure manufacturing processes, tools, fixtures, and equipment comply with applicable safety, quality, and operational

standards.
- Maintain appropriate technical documentation, drawings, specifications, equipment records, and process change

history.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 78 years of relevant experience in the electronics and electrical manufacturing industry.
- Experience in product assembly, manufacturing engineering, NPI, tooling, fixtures, and process improvement.
- Knowledge of mechanical drawings, GD&T;, basic manufacturing processes, and engineering documentation is

preferred.
