Role Description This is a full-time, in office role for a Machine Learning Engineer in the Mechanical Domain, based in Pune City. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models for mechanical systems and applications, including predictive maintenance, optimization, and performance analysis.

The engineer will collaborate with mechanical engineers and software developers to collect, preprocess, and analyze data from sensors, equipment, and simulations. Daily responsibilities include building and validating ML pipelines, tuning models, documenting methodologies, and presenting insights to cross-functional stakeholders.



The role also includes implementing scalable solutions, maintaining model performance in production, and contributing to continuous improvement of Varahi’s mechanical and industrial technology offerings.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in machine learning and data science, including model development, evaluation, and deployment.
- Experience with programming languages and tools commonly used in ML (e.g., Python, relevant libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch).
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, mechanical systems, and related data (e.g., vibration, thermal, or performance data) for industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in data handling, preprocessing, feature engineering, and working with large, real-world datasets from sensors or equipment.
- Familiarity with software engineering practices, version control, API integration, and production-grade ML pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and document solutions effectively.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps tools for ML (MLOps), and visualization tools is an advantage.
- Curiosity to explore innovative ML solutions in the mechanical domain and willingness to learn new technologies and methods.
