Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Design Lead to drive the design function for our corporate interior projects — from concept development through to execution on site. The role requires a robust design sensibility combined with hands-on project delivery experience in commercial/corporate fit-outs (offices, workspaces, corporate campuses), and the ability to lead a team of designers while managing client and stakeholder expectations.

The ideal candidate has led design for multiple corporate interior projects end-to-end, is comfortable working across concept design, detailing, vendor coordination, and site execution, and can balance design intent with budget, timeline, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Leadership

- Lead concept development, space planning, and design detailing for corporate interior projects, ensuring design intent is carried through to execution.
- Review and approve mood boards, layouts, 3D visualizations, working drawings, and material/finish selections prepared by the design team.
- Ensure design solutions align with client brand guidelines, functional requirements, budget, and statutory/building compliance norms.
- Stay current with material trends, sustainable design practices, and evolving workplace design standards.

2. Project & Client Management

- Own the design deliverables timeline across multiple concurrent corporate projects, coordinating closely with project management and execution teams.
- Act as the primary design point of contact for clients — presenting concepts, incorporating feedback, and managing design approvals.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and integration.
- Monitor project budgets from a design/material specification standpoint and propose value-engineering solutions where required.

3. Site Execution & Quality Control

- Conduct regular site visits to monitor execution quality against approved designs and specifications.

- Resolve on-site design queries and coordinate snag-list closures with contractors and vendors.
- Work closely with procurement and vendor teams to ensure furniture, finishes, and fixtures are executed as per design intent, cost, and timeline.

4. Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and review the work of design associates, junior designers, and visualizers/draftsmen.
- Allocate design resources across projects based on priority, complexity, and timelines.
- Build internal design standards, templates, and best practices to improve consistency and turnaround time.

5. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

- Identify, evaluate, and coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers for furniture, finishes, lighting, and custom fabrication.
- Negotiate specifications and quality benchmarks with vendors in coordination with procurement.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from a recognized institute.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience, with a strong portfolio of corporate/commercial interior fit-out projects (offices, co-working spaces, corporate campuses, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience leading design end-to-end — from concept to site execution — on projects of significant scale.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring a design team is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp/3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office; familiarity with Revit/BIM tools is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of building codes, fire and safety norms, and green building/sustainability standards (e.g., LEED, WELL) is desirable.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong design sensibility with an eye for detail, balanced with commercial and practical judgment.
- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills — able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective vendor negotiation and coordination abilities.
- Team leadership and mentoring capability. • Problem-solving mindset, especially in resolving on-site design and execution challenges.
