Company Description ReadingGrounds is a design practice specializing in Landscape Urbanism, Urban Design, and Architecture, with a studio based in Bengaluru, India. Founded in London in 2010 as a research platform, it has evolved into a multidisciplinary practice with an integrated and process-focused design approach. The studio is recognized for a methodology that prioritizes evolutionary design processes over static forms, ensuring that projects grow and adapt over time.

Its dedicated research unit, Ground Research, functions as a think tank, conducting deep urban and spatial research that informs design and evaluates completed projects to continuously improve future work.

Role Description This is a full-time, in office role for a Landscape Architect based in Bengaluru.

The Landscape

Architect will collaborate with designers and researchers to develop site-responsive landscape concepts and detailed designs for urban, public, and private projects. Daily responsibilities include preparing landscape plans, planting plans, and construction details; coordinating with architecture and urban design teams; and integrating research findings into design proposals. The role involves regular site visits to understand conditions,



oversee implementation, and participate in post-occupancy evaluations to refine design outcomes.

The Landscape

Architect will also support client presentations, prepare visual and written documentation, and contribute to the continuous evolution of ReadingGrounds’ design processes.

Qualifications

- Ability to develop comprehensive site strategies using Landscape Planning and Landscaping skills.
- Proficiency in Landscape Design and Landscape Architecture for concept development and detailed project execution.
- Experience in creating accurate and context-sensitive Planting Plans.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field.
- Strong skills in CAD, 3D modeling, and graphic visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of ecology, site grading, materials, and sustainable design principles.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a studio environment.
