Consultant Oracle (Junior Oracle DBA Oracle Cloud)

Experience: 3-6 Years

Location: Ahmedabad / Pune candidates only - Work from Office

Shift: Should be comfortable supporting UK & North American time zones

Job Summary

We are looking for a Junior Oracle DBA with 3-6 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration and exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role involves supporting Oracle databases across on-premises and OCI environments, performing day-to-day DBA activities, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup/recovery, maintenance and basic cloud administration under senior DBA guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Database Administration

- Perform day-to-day Oracle DBA activities including database availability, performance, storage, sessions and resource monitoring.
- Manage users, access, tablespaces, datafiles, schemas and database objects.
- Monitor alerts, jobs, locks, sessions and long-running queries; perform basic SQL and database troubleshooting.
- Support database startup/shutdown, routine maintenance, patching, upgrades and cloning.
- Monitor Oracle RMAN backups, resolve basic backup failures and perform basic restore/recovery activities.
- Support database recovery and DR activities.
- Basic exposure to Oracle Data Guard and RAC is preferred.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Monitor and administer Oracle databases hosted on OCI using the OCI Console.
- Support OCI database provisioning,



configuration, monitoring and administration.
- Assist with OCI DB Systems / Oracle Base Database Service and Exadata Cloud Infrastructure.
- Monitor OCI compute, storage, networking and database resources.
- Support OCI backup, restore, recovery and DR activities.
- Basic understanding of OCI Compute, Block Volume, Object Storage, VCN, Subnets, Load Balancer, IAM & Policies, Monitoring and Logging.
- Basic understanding of cloud networking, security concepts and connectivity.
- Support OCI-related incidents and service requests under senior DBA guidance.

Required Skills

- 3-6 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA / Junior Oracle DBA.
- Robust foundation in Oracle Database Administration, including user management, tablespaces, schemas and performance monitoring.
- Experience with RMAN backup, restore/recovery and backup monitoring.
- Experience/exposure to patching, maintenance, cloning and documentation.
- Basic understanding of OCI services, architecture and OCI database services.
- Exposure to OCI DB Systems / Base Database Service and basic understanding of Exadata Cloud Infrastructure.
- Familiarity with OCI Compute, Block Volume, Object Storage, VCN/Subnets, Load Balancer, IAM/Policies, Monitoring/Logging and OCI Backup & Recovery.
- Good communication skills for working with distributed UK and North American teams.
