Must Job Summary The IT Security Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's overall security posture across network infrastructure, servers, applications, cloud environments, and websites.
The role focuses on proactively mitigating cybersecurity risks, responding to security incidents, managing vulnerabilities and zero-day threats, and ensuring the security and availability of critical systems hosted both on-premises and in cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities 1. Network and System Security Administration
- Administer and maintain all network and system security controls, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), intrusion detection systems (IDS), endpoint protection, VPNs, and access management solutions.
- Monitor security events and alerts across the enterprise infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices.
- Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and vulnerability scans.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security requirements and regulatory standards.
- Vulnerability Management and Zero-Day Threat Response
- Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and zero-day exploits.
- Assess the impact of newly discovered vulnerabilities on organizational systems and applications.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute security patch management activities across servers, operating systems, applications, and network devices.
- Ensure timely deployment of security updates and remediation measures while minimizing business disruption.
- Maintain vulnerability management reports and security risk registers.
- Cloud and Container Security Administration
- Administer and secure AWS cloud infrastructure hosting critical applications and websites.
- Manage containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, or similar platforms) and ensure adherence to cloud security best practices.
- Configure and maintain AWS security services, including IAM, Security Groups, WAF, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and related controls.
- Monitor cloud environments for security threats, misconfigurations, and compliance violations.
- Implement cloud security hardening and continuous security improvement initiatives.
- Security Incident Response and Collaboration
- Serve as a key responder for cybersecurity incidents and potential security breaches.
- Investigate, analyze, contain,
and remediate security incidents in coordination with the corporate Information Security team.
- Perform root cause analysis and document incident reports, findings, and corrective actions.
- Participate in threat hunting, forensic investigations, and security monitoring activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to improve threat detection and response capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in IT Security, Systems Administration, or Cybersecurity Operations.
- Strong knowledge of network security technologies, operating systems, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platform and container technologies.
- Experience with vulnerability management and patch management processes.
- Familiarity with SIEM solutions, endpoint security tools, and security monitoring platforms.
- Knowledge of incident response methodologies and cybersecurity frameworks.
Certifications(Anyone Must)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- CompTIA Security+
- GIAC Security Certifications (GSEC, GCIH, or equivalent)
