About the Role

We’re looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and dependable Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and upkeep of Shala Gurukulam.

The role involves taking care of guest and residential rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and other spaces across the property, ensuring that the Gurukulam remains clean, organised, and welcoming for students, residents, and guests.

Key Responsibilities

- Clean and maintain guest rooms, residential areas, bathrooms, and common spaces.
- Make beds, change linen, towels, and other room essentials as required.
- Ensure rooms and common areas are clean, organised, and ready for guests and students.
- Handle regular dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitisation.
- Manage laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and organising linen and towels.
- Replenish toiletries, cleaning supplies, and other room essentials.
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchens, dining areas, corridors, and other shared spaces as required.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, damages, or repairs needed across the property.
- Maintain and organise housekeeping supplies and equipment.
- Follow proper hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.




- Coordinate with the Operations Manager to ensure daily housekeeping requirements are met.
- Support housekeeping requirements during retreats, events, and larger gatherings.

You’re a Great Fit If You:

- Have 1–2 years of experience in housekeeping, hospitality, hotels, resorts, retreats, or similar environments.
- Have good knowledge of cleaning and housekeeping practices.
- Are comfortable handling rooms, bathrooms, laundry, and common areas.
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in maintaining clean spaces.
- Are reliable, punctual, and physically comfortable with an active, hands-on role.
- Are respectful, polite, and comfortable interacting with guests and students.
- Can work independently as well as coordinate with a team.
- Maintain a calm, responsible, and respectful approach suited to a Gurukulam environment.
- Are willing to relocate to and work on-site in Shimla.
