Job Title: Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Job Purpose:

This role is IT and Digital technology AI lead for Hero MotoCorp. responsible for spearheading the exploration, development, and implementation of AI and related systems that drive business growth and maintain a competitive edge.

Hero MotoCorp is seeking a visionary, dynamic, and execution-oriented Head of Artificial Intelligence to champion our AI transformation across the global enterprise. Reporting directly to the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO), this leader will establish the enterprise-wide AI roadmap, build consensus across diverse business functions (Sales, Marketing,R&D;, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and deliver high-impact AI/ML projects from ideation through operational scale.

The ideal candidate blends elite strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability—possessing an MBA from a premier tier-1 business school, deep technical literacy in modern AI paradigms (Generative AI, Computer Vision, Predictive Analytics), and exceptional executive presence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Vision & Enterprise Roadmap

- Identify high-value AI use cases across business units (e.g., predictive maintenance in plants, smart dealership operations, employee productivity, personalized marketing, demand forecasting).
- Define and execute Hero MotoCorp’s overarching Enterprise AI & GenAI Strategy, aligning technology investments with core business priorities.
- Establish scalable governance models, AI ethical guidelines, and data security policies tailored for manufacturing and automotive environments.

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Alignment

- Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership across R&D;,



Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources to drive AI adoption.
- Translate complex AI concepts into actionable business value metrics (ROI, cost savings, yield improvement, customer satisfaction) for non-technical stakeholders.
- Serve as an internal evangelist, cultivating an AI-first digital culture across all organizational levels.

3. Program Execution & Solution Delivery

- Lead end-to-end execution of enterprise AI projects from proof-of-concept (PoC) to full-scale production deployment.
- Design robust delivery frameworks ensuring speed-to-value, technical excellence, and seamless integration with existing enterprise architecture (SAP, Cloud, IoT platforms).
- Oversee key vendor, startup, and academic partnerships to co-innovate and accelerate solution delivery.

4. Capability Building & Center of Excellence (CoE)

- Build and mentor a world-class AI Center of Excellence (CoE) comprising Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Data Engineers, and AI Product Managers.
- Drive internal upskilling programs to build AI literacy across non-technical business teams.

Academic Qualification:

- MBA from a premier tier-1 global or Indian management institute (e.g., INSEAD, Harvard, Wharton, IIMs A/B/C, ISB).
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering, from a premier engineering institute (e.g., IIT, NIT, top university).

Relevant Experience:

- 18+ years of total experience,



with at least 6–8 years in leadership roles driving enterprise-wide AI/Data Transformation initiatives.
- Prior experience leading AI programs in automotive, manufacturing, Pharma, FMCG , other industry.

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

- Enterprise AI & ML Architecture: Hands-on understanding of Machine Learning lifecycle (MLOps), Deep Learning, NLP, Generative AI (LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation), Computer Vision, and Reinforcement Learning.
- Business understanding Overall understanding of Business operations (higher level understanding of Finance, supply, HR, supply chain)- MBA should help. -
- AI Governance & Risk: Expertise in AI ethics, compliance, regulatory standards, data privacy, and model monitoring/explainability.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to translate details into bigger picture implications driving the business forward, challenging the status quo. Aligns the right resources to the task at hand; foresees and plans around obstacles
- Visionary Leadership: Ability to anticipate emerging technology trends and translate them into long-term strategic advantages for Hero MotoCorp.
- Cross-Functional Influence & Change Management: Exceptional ability to build consensus, break down functional silos, and manage change in a traditional industrial-to-digital matrix setup.
