Role Description This full-time, on-site Forward Deployed Engineer role is based in Bengaluru and focuses on working closely with customers to implement, customize, and optimize base14’s observability solutions within their environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include integrating the platform with existing systems, writing and maintaining backend services, and configuring telemetry pipelines using up-to-date programming practices.





The role involves collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate real-world reliability challenges into technical solutions, troubleshooting complex distributed systems issues, and guiding customers on best practices for observability and performance.

Forward Deployed

Engineers are expected to participate in deployment planning, proof-of-concept implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance both customer outcomes and the platform itself.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems fundamentals.
- Experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in at least one modern language (e.g., Go, Java, Python, or similar).
- Hands-on skills in Back-End Web Development, working with APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to design clean, maintainable code.
- Familiarity with observability concepts (logs, metrics, traces), OpenTelemetry, and cloud-native architectures is highly beneficial.
- Comfort collaborating directly with customers, gathering requirements, and delivering technical solutions in production environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, with strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
