Role Description As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Marxen, you will work directly with customers and internal teams to design, implement, and maintain software solutions in real-world environments. In this full-time, hybrid role based in Chennai, you will spend part of your time on-site with clients and teams, with some work-from-home flexibility.

Day-to-day responsibilities include building and integrating backend services, deploying and monitoring applications, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with product managers, data teams, and designers to refine requirements. You will translate complex domain and operational workflows into robust technical architectures, optimize performance and scalability,



and contribute to documentation and best practices for deployed systems. The role requires a strong focus on reliability, clear communication with non-technical stakeholders, and a willingness to work hands-on with live platforms and data operations.

Qualifications

- Foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one contemporary language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or similar).
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and distributed services.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in production systems.
- Experience deploying and operating software in real-world environments (cloud or on-prem), including monitoring, logging, and incident response.
- Ability to work closely with customers and cross-functional teams, translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Comfort with fast-paced, ambiguous problem spaces and ownership of end-to-end delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with data-intensive systems, AI/ML deployments, or domain-heavy platforms (healthcare, legal, education, or government) is a plus.
