Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Firmware Test Engineer with 5 to 7 years of experience in firmware and embedded system testing. The candidate should have hands-on experience testing physical access controllers and readers, working with communication interfaces such as UART, RS485, and SPI, and performing testing on Linux-based systems.

The ideal candidate should have experience with communication protocol validation, communication sniffing tools, manual and automation testing, and preferably Python-based test automation.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform manual testing of physical access controllers and readers.
- Set up and configure test environments involving access controllers, readers, and related hardware.
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Test and validate firmware functionality across different hardware configurations.
- Validate communication protocols and verify their implementation.
- Work with UART, RS485, and SPI interfaces for firmware and hardware testing.
- Use RS485 interface tools and communication sniffing tools for troubleshooting and validation.
- Identify, document, track, and retest software/firmware defects.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts.
- Perform regression, stress, load, performance, and system testing.
- Perform Linux OS testing and troubleshoot firmware/system-level issues.
- Analyze test results and provide clear defect reports and test status updates.
- Work closely with firmware, software, and hardware teams to resolve issues.

Mandatory Skills
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Firmware / Embedded Testing




- Strong understanding of firmware testing methodologies
- Hands-on experience with:

- UART

- RS485

- SPI
- Experience with Linux OS testing
- Understanding of communication protocols and protocol validation
- Hands-on experience with RS485 interface tools
- Experience with communication sniffing / protocol analysis tools
- Experience in manual testing of embedded/physical devices

- Exposure to test automation
- Good knowledge of Python for test automation
- Good communication and documentation skills

- Experience with Selenium or Playwright
