Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Endoscopy Technician role based at KIMSHEALTH in Trivandrum.

The Endoscopy

Technician will assist healthcare providers in performing endoscopic procedures, including preparing procedure rooms, setting up and testing endoscopy equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety before, during, and after procedures. Daily responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing scopes and instruments in accordance with infection control protocols, maintaining accurate documentation of procedures and equipment usage, and supporting clinicians with specimen collection and labeling.



The role also involves monitoring inventory of endoscopy supplies, reporting equipment issues promptly, and collaborating with nursing and medical teams to ensure efficient workflow. The technician is expected to follow all hospital policies, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to a respectful, patient-centered care setting.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in endoscopy procedures, including equipment setup, scope handling, and assisting clinicians during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic interventions.
- Candidates should possess skills in sterilization and infection control, including cleaning, disinfection, and safe handling of endoscopic instruments and related devices.
- Candidates should possess skills in surgical technology support, including understanding of operating room protocols, instrument preparation, and procedure room readiness.
- Candidates should possess skills in medical assisting, including basic patient preparation, vital sign monitoring, and clear communication with patients and clinical teams.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of medicine related to gastrointestinal and other endoscopic procedures, including awareness of patient safety, complications, and post-procedure care.
- Diploma or certification in Endoscopy Technology, Surgical Technology, or an equivalent allied health program is preferred.
- Prior experience in an endoscopy unit or operating theatre in a hospital setting is an advantage.
