About the Company A fast-growing Physical AI and robotics startup is building hardware and data-collection infrastructure for next-generation AI systems.
The team works across embedded systems, robotics, computer vision and sensor-rich hardware to capture and process real-world data at scale.
About the Role The company is looking for a hands-on Embedded Engineer who can work across the hardware-software boundary.
You will own critical parts of the on-device architecture, board bring-up, camera pipelines, sensor firmware and system validation.
This is a highly hands-on role involving real hardware, high-bandwidth sensor data and embedded systems operating in real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own board bring-up and on-device architecture.
- Develop and optimize camera and vision pipelines.
- Work with V4L2 drivers and MIPI CSI-2 interfaces.
- Build reliable high-bandwidth video capture pipelines.
- Develop firmware for custom sensors and integrate them with main processors.
- Implement camera calibration and multi-camera synchronization.
- Work with hardware triggering to maintain stream synchronization.
- Debug hardware/software issues across I2C, firmware, drivers and hardware.
- Optimize memory, DMA and system-level performance.
- Diagnose issues involving bandwidth, dropped frames and thermal constraints.
- Develop testing and engineering tooling using Python.
- Validate embedded systems across hardware,
firmware and software layers.
Must-Have Requirements
- 5–10 years of relevant embedded systems experience.
- Strong C/C++ programming.
- Strong Embedded Linux experience.
- Hands-on board bring-up experience.
- Experience with V4L2 / Linux camera drivers.
- Strong understanding of MIPI CSI-2.
- Experience working with cameras, sensors and vision pipelines.
- Experience with I2C and hardware-level debugging.
- Understanding of DMA, memory management and system performance.
- Ability to debug across both hardware and software.
- Comfortable working directly with development/custom boards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Linux kernel / driver development.
- Embedded Linux BSP experience.
- End-to-end camera stack experience.
- Sensor and ISP tuning.
- Multi-camera synchronization.
- Hardware triggering.
- NVIDIA Jetson Orin experience.
- Rockchip RK3588 experience.
- Robotics / computer vision / physical AI experience.
- Python for testing and engineering tooling.
Ideal Candidate
Someone who is genuinely bilingual across hardware and software.
You should be comfortable tracing a problem from application software down through drivers, firmware, interfaces and physical hardware.
Candidates with only generic Embedded C, MCU firmware, AUTOSAR or application-level Linux experience without camera/board-level exposure may not be suitable.
