Director of Supply Chain Management
Location: Remote – United States

Reports To: Vice President of Operations / Chief Operating Officer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain Management to lead the company’s supply chain strategy and day-to-day supply chain operations. This position will oversee planning, inventory management, supplier coordination, logistics, distribution, and supply chain performance.
The Director will work closely with Procurement, Operations, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and other business functions to improve supply availability, operational efficiency, cost management, and planning accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support company objectives and operational requirements.
- Lead supply planning, inventory management, logistics, distribution, and related supply chain activities.
- Establish supply chain processes, policies, operating standards, and performance measures.
- Monitor demand, inventory levels, supplier capacity, lead times, fulfillment requirements, and service performance.
- Coordinate with Procurement on sourcing plans, purchasing requirements, supplier relationships, and supplier performance.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, distributors, and other external partners.
- Monitor supplier performance, including delivery reliability, quality, capacity, lead times, and cost.
- Partner with Sales and Operations to improve demand visibility and align supply plans with business requirements.
- Work with Finance to manage inventory investment, working capital, operating costs, budgets, and financial targets.
- Identify supply constraints, capacity limitations, logistics issues, and other operational risks.
- Develop practical contingency plans to address potential supply interruptions or changes in business requirements.
- Oversee logistics and distribution activities to support reliable and cost-effective product movement.
- Establish supply chain KPIs, reporting processes, dashboards, and performance reviews.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, operational gaps, cost opportunities, and process improvements.
- Develop inventory planning and replenishment practices that balance product availability and inventory investment.
- Improve demand planning,
supply forecasting, inventory planning, and cross-functional coordination.
- Support the implementation and optimization of ERP, WMS, TMS, inventory management, and supply planning systems.
- Lead supply chain improvement initiatives focused on service levels, efficiency, cost management, and process consistency.
- Establish appropriate documentation, controls, procedures, and reporting standards.
- Manage supply chain projects involving suppliers, logistics, systems, inventory, facilities, and operational processes.
- Provide regular performance updates, forecasts, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Recruit, develop, and manage supply chain professionals while establishing clear responsibilities and performance expectations.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, operations, logistics, procurement, planning, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience managing supply chain teams or related operational functions.
- Demonstrated experience managing inventory, supply planning, supplier relationships, logistics, and distribution.
- Strong understanding of demand planning, replenishment, inventory control, purchasing coordination, transportation, and fulfillment.
- Experience developing and monitoring supply chain KPIs, forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate operational data and identify practical solutions.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, operating costs, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make informed operational decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, technology, healthcare, or another supply chain-intensive industry.
- Experience supporting multi-location or multi-region supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, demand planning, or inventory optimization tools.
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or another relevant professional certification.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other structured process improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers and transportation partners.
- Experience leading remote or geographically distributed teams.
- MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field is a plus.
Leadership Responsibilities The Director of Supply Chain Management will provide clear direction to the supply chain organization, establish operational priorities, develop team capabilities, and strengthen coordination across the company. The position requires strong operational judgment, financial awareness, analytical skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into practical supply chain plans.

Work Environment
This is a fully remote position available to candidates located within the United States. The role requires regular collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, logistics partners, and senior leadership through video meetings, ERP systems, supply chain platforms, project management tools, and other digital communication systems.
