Corporate Banking Operations, Officer

About the Opportunity
One of our financial services clients is looking for a Corporate Banking Operations, Officer to provide operational support for credit finance products within Finance.
The role involves servicing credit facilities on the Bank’s loan accounting systems, processing related cash transfers, and performing reconciliations and exception report reviews.
Primary Responsibilities
- Closely monitor the team on a day-to-day basis to ensure all SLAs are met and any exceptions are immediately escalated for resolution.
- Supervise processes involving Deal Closing, Drawdowns, Rollovers, Repayments, Pre-payments, Funding, Rate-Fixings, Fees and external payments, collection of interest, Nostro & Past Due Reconciliation.
- Initiate cash movements via internal transfer and Fed wire/SWIFT.
- Reconcile general ledger/demand deposit accounts and document discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Analyze and research items for resolution.
- Process transactions or resolve exceptions.
- Handle Letters of Credit maintenance.
- Manage interest and fee logs.
- Handle client queries on life cycle events.
- Provide client support and training.
- Drive 100% compliance with process-related policies, guidelines and controls.
- Act as the SME and handle complex process-related queries and clarifications from team members, routing these to onshore teams for resolution where required.
- Maintain attention to detail to ensure all documents are processed and reviewed correctly.
- Implement a robust Knowledge Management model, including maintenance of SOPs, process/policy change management, training of new joiners and ongoing training of existing team members.
- Ensure timely escalation to management as and when required.
- Motivate and support team members to meet their goals and objectives.
- Identify and drive process improvements and other initiatives.
- Identify alternatives, options and different ways of looking at issues/problems and seek alternative scenarios.
- Identify changes to processes and procedures to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure backups/team depth is maintained, with production backups identified and trained on critical work queues.
- Ensure constructive performance feedback is provided to team members each month, with specific improvement areas documented and tracked to closure. Escalate where no improvement is noticed.
Required Skills / Certifications
- Around 10 years of experience in Loan Operations (Bilateral, Agented and Non Agented).
- General understanding of accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize under tight deadlines.
- Prior banking and/or lending knowledge beneficial.
Success Capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree or similar.
- Candidates with knowledge of loan systems like Loan IQ will hold an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary.
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to perform general analysis of credit documentation.
- Ability to work with others to accomplish tasks.
- Strong focus on the customer experience.
- Able to build solid, open and collaborative working relationships.
- Should be comfortable with Bangalore location.
- Should be open with all shifts, including night shifts.
