Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The company is a healthcare-focused crowdfunding and HealthTech platform that helps patients raise funds for medical treatment by connecting them with donors, hospitals, and healthcare networks across India. The company works closely with NGOs, trusts, hospitals, and CSR/institutional partners as part of its ecosystem, while operating as a private, for-profit technology platform.

About the Role The company is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function and drive financial strategy in line with the company's mission of making healthcare accessible. This is a newly created role reporting to the CEO, working closely with the executive team and Board of Directors. The CFO will own budgeting, financial planning, compliance, and reporting for both high-volume retail donor transactions and institutional/CSR/foundation funding relationships, while building out the finance team and internal controls to support the company's growth.

What You Will Do

1. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission, goals and objectives.
2. Lead the annual budgeting process with department heads to create realistic, strategic budgets.
3. Track financial performance against budgets and report regularly to the executive team and Board.
4. Oversee accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and internal controls.
5. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and legal requirements.
6. Manage relationships with auditors, regulators and financial institutions.

Identify financial risks and put risk management strategies in place; establish internal controls to safeguard assets.
8. Own financial reporting for both retail donor transactions and institutional/CSR/foundation partnerships — including budgets, utilisation reporting and compliance.
9. Work with program managers to deliver accurate, timely reports to donors, corporates, CSR teams and foundations.
10. Partner with the executive team on strategies for long-term financial sustainability, growth and revenue diversification.
11. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:

1. 12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally including CFO or senior finance executive exposure.
2. Experience with fund accounting, grant/CSR fund management, and reporting to both retail and institutional donors/funders is a strong plus (fintech, HealthTech, or startup finance backgrounds are also welcome).
3. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA/PGDM (Finance) strongly preferred, CA/CPA a plus but not mandatory.
4. Strong grip on statutory compliance, accounting standards, and internal controls in a fast-scaling company setting.
5. Comfortable working directly with a CEO and Board, presenting financial information to diverse stakeholders including corporate/CSR partners.
6. Hands-on familiarity with modern accounting/ERP systems (Tally, Zoho, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or similar).
7. Willingness to travel as needed for donor, hospital-network, or partner engagements.
