Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis &
- Discovery: Drive functional discovery sessions with business stakeholders and customers to capture, analyze, and translate complex core P&C; insurance requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and process flowcharts.
- Stakeholder &
- Functional Leadership: Lead functional discussions, design walkthroughs, and alignment workshops with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and client teams.
- Solution Architecture &
- POC Demos: Package innovative solutions and lead interactive Proof-of-Concept (POC) demonstrations to prospective and existing clients to showcase platform capabilities and product fit.
- Engineering &
- Product Collaboration: Act as the primary domain Subject Matter Expert (SME) for engineering development teams, clarifying functional edge-cases, business rules, and workflow logic throughout the SDLC.
- Quality &
- Acceptance Sign-off: Define functional acceptance criteria and perform functional UAT/validation to formally sign off on application quality and compliance before client releases.
- System Integration Understanding: Analyze how core P&C; platforms integrate with upstream/downstream systems (e.g., rating engines, payment gateways, third-party data providers, document generation, and reporting tools).
Required Qualifications &
- Experience
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on functional experience in the Property &
- Casualty (P&C;) insurance domain (Policy, Claims, or Billing).
- Domain Expertise:
Strong understanding of core P&C; lines of business (Commercial/Personal lines like Auto, Property, General Liability, Workers' Comp), product lifecycle processes (quoting, underwriting, binding, endorsements, claims handling), and system workflows.
- Requirements Management: Proven track record in requirement elicitation, wireframing, user story writing, mapping business rules, and gap analysis.
- Solution &
- Demo Skills: Practical experience assembling solution components and delivering engaging POC demos to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Quality Sign-off: Hands-on capability to validate functional user flows, lead end-to-end user acceptance testing (UAT), and provide official sign-offs for production releases.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with an ability to articulate functional solutions clearly to customer leadership and internal engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with standard core insurance platforms (e.g., Guidewire PolicyCenter/ClaimCenter, Duck Creek, Majesco, or custom cloud-native P&C; SaaS applications).
- Exposure to North American (US/Canada) or UK/European P&C; insurance markets and regulatory frameworks.
- Relevant industry certifications such as AIC, AINS, CPCU, or FLMI are a strong plus.
