Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounts Company: Cove Offices | Function: Finance | Location: Bengaluru | Reporting to: Finance Manager / CFO | Experience: 4–6 years ABOUT THE ROLE
Cove Offices is looking for a hands-on finance professional to manage day-to-day accounting, month-end closing, billing and receivables, payables, statutory compliance and MIS support across its entities and centres. The role will work closely with the Finance Manager / CFO, Operations, Centre Teams, auditors and tax consultants, ensuring that the books are accurate, reconciled, compliant and closed on time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. General Accounting & Bookkeeping
Verifification day-to-day accounting entries in Tally ERP / Zoho – sales, purchases, expenses, journals, receipts and payments – with proper supporting documents. Verify vendor invoices against POs, agreements and service confirmations, ensuring correct GST, ITC eligibility and TDS treatment. Maintain customer, vendor, landlord and employee ledgers, along with registers for security deposits.
Maintain the fixed asset register; capitalise additions, compute and book depreciation, and record disposals. Book monthly provisions, accruals, prepaid expenses, rent / CAM and utility entries. Record inter-company transactions between group entities (Pvt Ltd and LLP) and reconcile inter-company balances every month.
2. Month-End Closing & Reconciliations
Complete month-end closing within agreed timelines, including cut-off, accruals, provisions and prepaid amortisation. Prepare bank and fixed deposit reconciliations for all accounts, including interest accruals on FDs. Reconcile customer and vendor ledgers, GST (books vs GSTR-2B / GSTR-1), TDS (books vs Form 26AS / TRACES), payroll and statutory dues.
Scrutinise the general ledger and trial balance; clear suspense, unreconciled and long-outstanding open items. Prepare monthly trial balance, P&L;, Balance Sheet and supporting schedules for review by the Finance Manager.
3. Billing, Receivables & Payables
Riase/review monthly client invoices in line with agreements, occupancy, pricing and applicable GST; issue credit / debit notes where approved. Track collections, maintain receivables ageing and follow up with Centre and Sales teams on overdue amounts. Account for client security deposits, lock-in / notice-period adjustments,
waivers and exit settlement statements.
Prepare weekly vendor payment runs as per approved schedules, maintain payables ageing and resolve vendor queries. Account for payroll, reimbursements and employee advances; ensure PF, ESI and Professional Tax are deducted and paid on time.
4. Statutory Compliance
GST, TDS & Income Tax Prepare and file (or coordinate filing of) monthly GST returns – GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B – and reconcile input tax credit with GSTR-2B; support annual GSTR-9 / 9C. Ensure correct TDS deduction, timely deposit, quarterly TDS returns (24Q / 26Q) and issue of Form 16 / 16A. Compute advance tax and support income tax return filing and tax audit (Form 3CD) with the tax consultants.
Support annual ROC / MCA filings for the company and LLP (AOC-4, MGT-7, LLP Form 8 and Form 11) with the Company Secretary. Maintain a statutory compliance calendar and ensure there are no delays, interest or penalties.
5. Audit & Financial Statements
Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documents for statutory, tax and internal audits. Assist in preparing annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L; and Notes) in Schedule III format for each entity. Respond to auditor and tax-assessment queries and track closure of audit observations.
6. MIS, Cash & Reporting Support Prepare monthly MIS inputs
Cost centre-wise revenue, expenses, rent, CAM and contribution – for review by the Finance Manager. Assist in Budget vs Actual analysis and flag major variances with explanations. Prepare the daily / weekly cash position, fund requirement and payment plan. Maintain partner capital and investor ledgers, and prepare documents and statements required by banks for loan / CC limit compliance.
7. Controls, Processes & Systems
Follow and enforce approval workflows, documentation and filing standards for all finance transactions. Identify gaps in billing, expense and payment processes and suggest SOP improvements.
Maintain accurate data in Tally / ERP / billing systems and build Excel / Google Sheets trackers for recurring finance activities.
8. Coordination & Team Support
Coordinate with Operations, Centre Management, Procurement and HR for invoices, approvals and data required for accounting. Guide and review the work of junior accountants / executives and outsourced accounting partners.
KEY DELIVERABLES / KPIs
Books kept up to date and month-end closed within agreed timelines. Bank, ledger, GST, TDS and inter-company reconciliations completed every month with no unexplained differences. Accurate and timely client billing, with controlled receivables and payables ageing.
All GST, TDS, payroll and other statutory filings and payments made on time, with no interest or penalties. Audit schedules delivered on time and audit observations closed smoothly. Accurate monthly MIS inputs and cash position reports delivered on schedule.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
CA Inter / M.Com / MBA (Finance) with 4–6 years of experience in accounting, finance operations and compliance. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Accounting Standards, Schedule III, month-end closing and reconciliations. Hands-on working knowledge of GST, TDS and income tax compliance, including return filing on the government portals. Proficiency in Tally Prime / Zoho Books / ERP and positive Excel skills.
Experience in handling statutory audits and preparing audit schedules. Strong attention to detail, ownership and the ability to meet deadlines while working with multiple teams.
Experience in coworking / flexible workspace, real estate, hospitality or multi-location service businesses is preferred; exposure to both Pvt Ltd and LLP accounting is a plus.
ROLE EXPECTATION The successful candidate will be expected to own the accounting and compliance engine of the finance function – keeping the books accurate and current, closing every month on time, ensuring every statutory filing is correct and on time, and giving the Finance Manager reconciled numbers for reporting and decision-making.
