Job Description – Purchase Manager / Purchase Executive (FMCG)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager / Purchase Executive to manage the procurement of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), coordinate with suppliers and distributors, ensure product availability, negotiate pricing, and oversee purchasing operations for store requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Handle the purchase of FMCG products such as groceries, personal care products, household items, and other fast-moving consumer goods, as applicable to the business.

- Identify and develop relationships with manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and suppliers.
- Negotiate product prices, discounts, credit terms, and delivery schedules.
- Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of products to stores.
- Monitor stock availability, sales movement, and replenishment requirements.
- Coordinate with store and inventory teams to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
- Compare supplier quotations and identify cost-effective purchasing opportunities.
- Verify product quality, quantities, expiry dates, and batch details where applicable.
- Monitor near-expiry products, damaged goods, returns, and supplier claims.
- Maintain purchase records, supplier details, invoices, and procurement reports.
- Supervise and guide the purchasing team,



if applicable.
- Ensure smooth coordination between vendors, stores, warehouse, and management.

Required Skills

- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of FMCG procurement and distribution.
- Understanding of inventory management and stock replenishment.
- Valuable communication, coordination, and team-handling skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and purchase documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and purchasing requirements efficiently.

Eligibility Criteria

- Any graduate degree.
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in FMCG purchasing, procurement, or vendor management.
- Experience in purchasing products for retail stores, supermarkets, or FMCG distribution businesses is preferred.
- Candidates with team management experience are preferred for the Purchase Manager position.
