Job description
- The Phlebotomist is responsible for efficiently and accurately collecting blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing
- Duties include preparing patients, selecting and preparing equipment, and performing venipunctures and capillary punctures
- The Phlebotomist must ensure sample integrity by following proper protocols, labeling specimens correctly, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment
- Effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential, along with adherence to safety and infection control standards
- Previous experience in phlebotomy or a related field, along with relevant certification, is preferred
- Solid attention to detail and compassionate patient care are essential qualities
