· General

1) You shall report to the CSSD Head.

2) Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments, trays, and equipment using cleaning solutions, ultrasonic washers, and other methods.

3) Operate and maintain autoclaves, sterilizers, and other CSSD machinery.

4) Monitor sterilization parameters (e.g., time, temperature, pressure) to ensure equipment is safe for use.

5) Sort, record and wash all surgical instruments in the autoclave machine.

6) Refill the water in the autoclave machine.

7) Receive the trays & load the packed set with autoclave indicator and enter the details in the register department wise.

8) Disinfect all dirty instruments and equipment in the dirty area.

9) Assemble and pack all surgical instruments & equipment in the dirty area.

10) Sterilize and store all packs in the sterile store, safely and effectively.

11) Label and document sterilized items to maintain inventory control.

12) Assist in the inventory of surgical and procedural instruments.

13) Do autoclave procedure at regular intervals as per the need according to the Batch Nos.

14) Check with all the departments for receiving the trays prior to autoclave.

15) Collect non-sterile surgical instruments and deliver all processed sterile packs to the wards and departments.

16) Inform the departments to collect the trays once it is autoclaved.

17) Record the details while issuing the trays.

18) Receive and segregate the washed linen as per the category of Gown bins, towel bins, sheets, sponges and dressing bins.

19) Autoclave the linens and distribute to the respective departments, record the details.

Prepare Gauze and KMG Pads for surgical procedures.

21) To inform/ get back the bins/ trays from the departments once the date is expired.

· Documentation

1) Strictly follows the hospital rules, regulations and policies.

2) Daily checking of all the instruments/equipment & Checklist to be maintained.

3) Check and record stock level of all items and monitor expiry date.

4) Proper maintenance of Steam log register, CSSD register, on daily basis.

5) Follow hospital protocols for handling contaminated items & biohazard materials.

6) Inform any breakage or damage caused to the instruments/ equipment to the BME immediately.

7) Assist in maintaining adequate instruments/ equipment and supplies to meet the demand.

8) Strictly avoid wastage of your stationery items in the unit.

9) Inform In-Charge Nurse in case of any shortage of supplies.

10) Accountable for maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene of the unit, temperature and oxygen supply.

· Safety at work

1) Operate all the machines in CSSD, safely and effectively.

2) Assist in maintaining an infection free area by periodic carbolization and fumigation.

3) Check and maintain the working condition of the all instruments/ equipment.

4) Perform safety checks and abide by all infection controls.

Executing asepsis and maintains clean linen.

6) Participate in quality assurance process to ensure consistent sterilization practices.

7) Provide feedback on workflow improvements to the CSSD Manager.

· The CSSD Senior Assistant / Technician’s role is vital in delivering & maintaining high-quality patient care.

In addition to the above mentioned duties and job functions any other assignment given by the immediate superior or the management will have to be carried out.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
