- Operate conventional lathe machines for manufacturing and repair of components.
- Perform turning facing boring threading, grooving and other machining operations.
- Manufacture/ repair shafts, bushes, pins, spacers and other machine components.
- Read basic engineering drawings and understand dimensions/ tolerances.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds.
- Carry out dimensional inspection using vernier, micrometer and other measuring instruments.
- Perform machine setup and tool changes.
- Maintain lathe machine cutting tools and work area.
- Ensure component accuracy and surface finish as per requirement.
- Follow machine safety and workshop 5s practices.
