1. Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical E-Commerce Finance Analyst to manage financial transactions, monitor marketplace settlements, reconcile sales and payment data, analyze revenue and expenses, and prepare financial reports. The candidate will work closely with the Finance, Accounts, Operations, and E-Commerce teams to ensure financial accuracy, timely reconciliation, and effective financial control across online sales channels.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. E-Commerce Sales & Revenue Analysis

- Monitor daily sales, revenue, refunds, and cancellations across e-commerce platforms.
- Analyze sales performance across marketplaces, websites, and other online channels.
- Track gross sales, net sales, discounts, commissions, and other marketplace charges.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Identify revenue discrepancies and coordinate with the concerned teams for resolution.

B. Marketplace Settlement & Reconciliation

- Reconcile marketplace settlement reports with bank statements and internal sales records.
- Verify payments received from platforms such as Amazon, and other e-commerce marketplaces.
- Track pending settlements, payment delays, deductions, and unexplained differences.
- Verify marketplace commissions, shipping charges, advertising fees, penalties, and other deductions.
- Follow up with marketplace support teams regarding payment and settlement discrepancies.
- Maintain a proper record of settlement status and outstanding receivables.

C. Financial Reporting & MIS

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly Finance MIS reports.
- Develop reports covering sales, settlements, refunds, expenses, and profitability.
- Track marketplace-wise and product-wise financial performance.
- Prepare variance analysis reports comparing actual performance with budgets or targets.
- Provide accurate financial data and insights to management for decision-making.
- Maintain financial trackers and dashboards using Microsoft Excel.

D. Profitability & Cost Analysis

- Analyze product-wise and marketplace-wise profitability.
- Monitor marketplace commissions, logistics costs, advertising expenses, and return-related losses.




- Calculate gross profit and contribution margins using approved cost and revenue data.
- Identify unusual cost increases and potential opportunities to improve profitability.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

E. Refunds, Returns & Claims Management

- Monitor customer refunds, cancelled orders, and returned products.
- Reconcile refund transactions with marketplace reports and internal records.
- Track eligible claims for lost shipments, damaged products, incorrect deductions, and other marketplace-related issues.
- Maintain a tracker of pending claims, reimbursements, and recoveries.
- Coordinate with the Operations and Customer Support teams to resolve discrepancies.

F. Accounts & Compliance Support

- Coordinate with the Accounts team for sales accounting and bank reconciliation.
- Verify invoices, credit notes, debit notes, and other relevant financial documents.
- Assist in GST reconciliation and preparation of supporting financial records.
- Support month-end closing and periodic financial reviews.
- Maintain accurate documentation for internal and external audits.
- Ensure financial records are maintained according to company policies and applicable statutory requirements.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in Finance, Accounts, or E-Commerce Finance.
- Robust knowledge of financial reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and conditional formatting.
- Experience handling marketplace settlement reports and bank reconciliation.
- Understanding of sales accounting, GST, refunds, and e-commerce transactions.
- Ability to analyze large volumes of financial data and identify discrepancies.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.

4. Preferred Skills

- Experience working with Amazon, or other e-commerce marketplaces.
- Knowledge of ERP or accounting software such as Tally, SAP, or similar systems.




- Experience preparing Finance MIS dashboards and management reports.
- Understanding of e-commerce order management and payment settlement cycles.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The employee's performance will be evaluated based on the following parameters:

- Settlement Reconciliation Accuracy – Accuracy of marketplace settlement reconciliation.
- Reconciliation Timeliness – Completion of daily and monthly reconciliations within deadlines.
- Pending Settlement Tracking – Timely identification and follow-up of outstanding settlements.
- MIS Reporting Accuracy – Accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
- Discrepancy Resolution – Timely resolution of payment differences and financial mismatches.
- Refund & Claims Recovery – Effective tracking of eligible refunds and marketplace claims.
- Profitability Reporting – Accuracy of product-wise and marketplace-wise profitability analysis.
- Audit Compliance – Proper documentation and availability of supporting records.
- Process Improvement – Identification of opportunities to improve financial controls and reporting efficiency.
- Data Accuracy – Maintenance of reliable and up-to-date financial records.
