About the role

The firm is hiring a full-time Team Lead for its Puttur branch. The Team Lead will supervise a small team handling day-to-day accounting, taxation and compliance work for clients, and will review the team's output before it goes to partners or clients. The role suits someone with 1-3 years of experience in a CA firm who is ready to take on supervision.

Key responsibilities

- Assign daily work to team members and track progress against client deadlines
- Review bookkeeping, ledgers and reconciliations prepared by the team for accuracy
- Supervise preparation and filing of GST returns, TDS returns and income tax returns
- Check working papers and drafts of financial statements before they are sent to partners
- Act as the first point of contact for clients on queries, document collection and follow-ups
- Guide and train junior staff and articled assistants on procedures and software




- Maintain a compliance calendar and make sure statutory due dates are met
- Escalate complex technical issues and client concerns to the partners in valuable time
- Keep client files, records and documentation organised and up to date.

Requirements

- B Com degree or CA Inter qualification
- 1-3 years of work experience in a CA firm
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS and income tax return filing
- Working knowledge of accounting software such as Tally and MS Excel
- Ability to review work and find errors in accounts and filings
- Good communication skills in English and Kannada; Tulu or Hindi is helpful
- Willingness to work from the Puttur branch and to put in extra hours during filing deadlines
