Job Summary

The Payyannur Eye Foundation Super Speciality Eye Hospital is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Optical Technician cum Salesman to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for optical dispensing, spectacle fitting, patient counselling, optical product sales, inventory management, and ensuring excellent patient service.

Key Responsibilities

- Interpret spectacle prescriptions and assist patients in selecting appropriate lenses and frames.
- Take accurate pupillary distance (PD) and other required measurements for spectacle dispensing.
- Perform spectacle fitting, frame adjustments, minor repairs, and quality checks.
- Explain lens types, coatings, frame options, pricing, warranties, and product care to patients.
- Promote and sell spectacles, optical lenses, frames, sunglasses, and other optical products.
- Coordinate with optical laboratories and suppliers to ensure timely order processing and delivery.
- Handle billing, payments, sales entries, and daily sales reports as per hospital procedures.
- Maintain optical stock, inventory records, product displays, and departmental cleanliness.




- Address patient queries and complaints professionally and coordinate with the concerned clinical team when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies and patient confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

- Diploma or certificate in Optical Technology, Opticianry, or a relevant field is preferred.
- Relevant experience in optical dispensing, optical sales, or spectacle fitting is an advantage.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of spectacle lenses, frames, and optical products.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Sales-oriented approach with the ability to achieve assigned targets.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with billing/POS systems.
- Attention to detail, teamwork, and organizational skills.
