Job Description – Buyer

Industry: Edible Oil / Ethanol / Chemical Plants
Experience: 3–5 Years
Department: Purchase / Procurement

Key Responsibilities

- Handle end-to-end procurement of plant equipment, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, chemicals and consumables.
- Source and develop reliable vendors and obtain competitive quotations.
- Prepare quotation comparisons and negotiate price, payment terms and delivery schedules.
- Issue Purchase Orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Stores, QA/QC and Finance teams.
- Follow up with suppliers for manufacturing, inspection and dispatch.
- Resolve supplier quality, delivery and commercial issues.
- Maintain purchase records, vendor database and procurement reports.

Preferred Experience





- Experience in Edible Oil, Ethanol/Distillery, Chemical or Process Plants.
- Valuable knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, tanks, heat exchangers, process equipment and industrial consumables.
- Good negotiation, vendor management and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/SAP.
- Diploma/Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field preferred.
