About Solinas
Solinas is a deep-tech startup incubated at IIT Madras. We build robotics and AI tools for water and sanitation, like pipeline inspection, manhole cleaning and septic tank cleaning. Our goal is to end manual scavenging and stop floods and sewer overflows. Since 2018, we have worked in 30+ cities. We have been featured on Shark Tank India and have partnered with Ashirvad Pipes and The/Nudge Institute.
About the role
This is an entry-level role in our Industrial Business Development team. You will report to a Manager or Senior Manager. Your main job is to keep the sales pipeline full and moving. At first, you will build the pipeline and support bigger deals. Over time, you will own smaller deals yourself.
What you will do
• Find and qualify recent industrial leads through calls, emails and site visits
• Track enquiries and tenders from industrial buyers and PSUs (government-owned companies)
• Prepare quotations and proposal drafts, reviewed by the senior BD manager




• Set up site demos and pilot runs with the operations team
• Keep the CRM up to date: every lead, every call, every follow-up date
• Support the senior manager in client meetings, plant surveys and post-proposal follow-ups

What we are looking for
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
• 1 to 3 years in sales, inside sales or business development
• Some experience selling hardware or technical products to industries
• Basic understanding of industrial procurement and tendering
• Clear English on calls and with plant engineers
• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and any CRM tool
• Comfort with cold calling and frequent travel to plants and industry events
• Hindi or Gujarati is a plus. Candidates in Gujarat, or with contacts in Gujarat industry, have a clear advantage.
