About NITS EngineeringNITS Engineering is a biomedical technology company building the next generation of biomedical devices, in vitro disease models, and engineering systems for drug discovery, regenerative medicine, and diagnostics. We combine precision hardware engineering with biomedical research to build the tools that take science from the lab bench to real world application.
About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced iPSC & Cellular Biology Researcher to lead the biological development of human iPSC-derived cardiac cells for our engineered cardiac tissue programme.
You will be responsible for establishing and optimizing the biological workflow from blood-derived PBMC isolation through iPSC generation, expansion, differentiation, characterization, and quality control. The role will combine stem-cell biology, molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, and cellular characterization.
You will develop robust and reproducible biological protocols and SOPs that can support the generation of standardized iPSC-derived cells for 3D cardiac tissue engineering and downstream applications in disease modelling, drug discovery, toxicity assessment, and human-relevant preclinical research.
This work will be carried out in collaboration with CMC Vellore, IIT Delhi, and CenFab, at VIT, Vellore.
What You Will DoBlood Processing and Reprogramming
• Establish workflows for donor blood processing and PBMC isolation, in line with ethics approvals, informed consent, and biosafety requirements.
• Develop and optimize protocols for reprogramming PBMC derived cells into iPSCs, including clone selection and vector clearance.
iPSC Culture, Banking, and QC
• Establish, expand, and cryopreserve human iPSC lines, and build master and working cell banks.
• Characterize identity, pluripotency, differentiation potential, and genomic stability using immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, karyotyping, and molec
