Description
The Application Packaging Engineer provides standardized second-line application packaging and release management support for Knauf's global Digital Workplace Services. Working under defined SOPs and supervision, the role resolves routine incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs, maintains accurate ServiceNow records and promptly escalates complex or cross-tower issues.

Responsibilities
• Handle end-to-end packaging requests via ServiceNow (RITM / SCTASK) with explicit ownership, maintaining mandatory fields and tracking lead time (request to package-ready-for-test).
• Evaluate every request for PatchMyPC eligibility (catalog availability, vendor update model,



silent install / update, security alignment) and decide PatchMyPC integration vs. standard packaging.
• Onboard eligible apps into PatchMyPC and publish to Intune (metadata, deployment type, targeting groups, customisation, update behaviour, supersedence, phased rollout); perform standard Intune packaging with correct detection and logging.
• Complete security assessment — malware / hash verification (VirusTotal), App Control (AppLocker / WDAC) and documented approve / reject / exception decisions with a risk owner.
• Run QA and UAT — install / uninstall and detection testing, logging validation, with UAT as a hard gate that is the only entry point to production.
• Release to production with controlled rollout, rollback readiness and post-release stability monitoring.
• Maintain runbooks and documentation and deliver KPI reporting (volume, lead time, success rate, rework, PatchMyPC coverage, UAT pass
