Job Summary

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE 2+) with 2-5 years of experience in backend or full-stack software development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable backend services and features that help the product scale and perform reliably for enterprise customers. The candidate should have hands-on experience with Node.js, MongoDB, and system design, along with familiarity with modern frontend technologies such as Vue.js, and strong troubleshooting and debugging skills. The role will focus on owning features end-to-end, improving system performance and reliability, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to deliver high-quality software.

Responsibilities

- Own features and services end-to-end - from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js.
- Work with MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
- Write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code.
- Troubleshoot and debug application and production issues, identifying root causes rather than short-term fixes.
- Analyze and improve application and database performance.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to technical documentation and architecture decisions.
- Work with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, and Linux environments to support reliable delivery.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
- Take ownership of production reliability, including logs, metrics, and error handling.
- Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and system architecture.

Preferred Background

- 2-5 years of professional software development experience.




- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong experience with MongoDB or another NoSQL/relational database.
- Good understanding of system design and distributed systems concepts.
- Experience with Vue.js/React.js and modern frontend development.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Git, Linux, and CI/CD.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud environments.
- Experience in software / SaaS / enterprise technology environments is preferred.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Robust understanding of API design, authentication, and secure development practices.
- Ability to read, debug, and improve existing production systems.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Comfortable taking ownership of deliverables and working independently.

- Experience with Socket.IO or other real-time communication technologies.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience with observability tools, centralized logging, and alerting.
- Understanding of secure application development and secrets management.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, microservices, or other distributed application patterns.
