Job Summary

Food Square is looking for a skilled and hands-on MEP Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) to manage the maintenance, troubleshooting, and smooth functioning of the store's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The candidate should have practical experience in preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and resolving technical issues to ensure uninterrupted store operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mechanical Maintenance

- Carry out routine inspection, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment-related issues, including HVAC, ventilation, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
- Ensure all mechanical equipment operates efficiently and safely.

2. Electrical Maintenance

- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, lighting, switches, sockets, and distribution boards.
- Identify electrical faults and carry out repairs safely.
- Monitor electrical equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate with external service providers for specialised repairs, where required.

3. Plumbing Maintenance

- Inspect and repair water supply lines,



drainage systems, taps, valves, and sanitary fittings.
- Identify and resolve water leakages, blockages, and plumbing-related issues.
- Ensure proper functioning of water pumps and related plumbing equipment.

4. Preventive Maintenance & Store Support

- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to minimise equipment breakdowns.
- Respond promptly to maintenance complaints and emergency repair requirements.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and repairs.
- Coordinate with store operations and external vendors for maintenance activities.
- Ensure adherence to workplace safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
- Support the smooth functioning of refrigeration, cooling, and other store equipment, wherever applicable.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- ITI certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, or a relevant technical trade.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in MEP maintenance.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to identify faults, troubleshoot problems, and perform repairs independently.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to respond to breakdowns and work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Positive communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
