Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead with a strong balance of hands-on Manual and Automation testing expertise to drive end-to-end quality assurance across our web applications, APIs, and document processing systems. In this role, you will define quality strategy, establish scalable test automation frameworks, oversee manual exploratory testing, and mentor a high-performing QA team.

You will also champion modern testing practices by integrating AI coding agents and automated workflows to accelerate test execution, validate complex MS Word/XML document pipelines, and ensure exceptional product reliability.

Key Responsibilities

QA Leadership & Strategy

- Define overall QA strategies, test plans, estimation models, and quality gates across multi-discipline Agile development sprints.
- Lead, mentor, and guide junior and mid-level QA engineers in manual testing methodologies, automation best practices, and defect management.
- Establish quality metrics, track sprint test progress, and communicate release readiness to cross-functional stakeholders.

Test Automation & Framework Design

- Architect, enhance, and maintain scalable UI test automation frameworks using Selenium (or equivalent modern automation tools).
- Champion AI-assisted automation by utilizing AI developer tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate test script creation, code refactoring, and test data generation.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD build pipelines to enable continuous feedback and regression testing.

Manual & Document Generation QA

- Perform and oversee rigorous manual, exploratory, end-to-end,



and regression testing for complex web workflows.
- Lead specialized testing for complex MS Word document generation engines, validating XML data binding, dynamic formatting, and structural integrity of generated .docx files.
- Ensure comprehensive coverage for edge cases, data boundary limits, and user experience workflows.

API & Integration Testing

- Validate microservice architectures, backend logic, and data flows using Postman and automated API testing scripts.
- Validate complex JSON/XML payloads, headers, response status codes, and database states.

Defect Triage & Process Optimization

- Drive daily defect triage meetings, analyze root causes, and manage bug lifecycles using tracking tools like Jira.
- Collaborate closely with software architects, product managers, and DevOps to resolve critical blockers and ensure adherence to strict quality standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Total Experience: 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in software quality assurance, with a proven track record transitioning from senior QA execution to lead responsibilities.
- Automation Testing: 3+ years of strong, hands-on experience designing and maintaining UI test automation frameworks with Selenium.




- Manual Testing Expertise: Deep understanding of software testing lifecycles (STLC), test design techniques, exploratory testing, and complex test scenario creation.
- Document QA / XML Validation: Practical experience testing structured document outputs, OpenXML formats, or XML data binding within MS Word generation engines.
- API Testing: Solid experience testing RESTful APIs and verifying JSON/XML response structures using Postman or similar tools.
- AI Tool Integration: Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT) to augment testing workflows, generate mock data, or build scripts efficiently.
- Test Management & Agile: Robust experience using Jira, Confluence, or test management systems to direct team priorities, track bugs, and report metrics.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead QA initiatives, delegate tasks, conduct code reviews for test automation scripts, and mentor engineering peers.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience configuring automated test execution within CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
- Familiarity with document generation libraries such as Aspose or OpenXML SDK.
- Background in performance/load testing (e.g., JMeter, K6) or security testing fundamentals.
- Experience testing AI-driven, machine-learning, or document-automation-heavy platforms.

Note:-

This is a 6-month contractual role on vendor payroll for a critical project, with an immediate joining requirement. The contract may be extended based on project needs.
